I used to live in So Flo (South Florida) and that is where I met this family. Well actually it was just The two of them...Brandy and Dave when I met them. Brandy is the definition of a firecracker.
...Okay I just googled firecracker...the urban dictionary told me it was a snack made with peanut butter, crackers and marijuana. She is not that. Another blog post told me that we should stop referring to women as firecrackers....I guess I'm not going to listen to that because in my head it is the biggest compliment ever! I've always wanted to be a firecracker.
MY personal definition of Firecracker = bold, beautiful, full of light and fearless. Like an actual firecracker! Firecrackers are so much fun, they make unapologetic loud noises are super beautiful and make sparkling light. That's everything Brandy is. She is fearless woman who is always honest and full of light. Dave is the most energetic and kind person. And put up with us laughing super hard and pretending to be the voice of their dog Mayley. Well, we thought we were hilarious.
I took a little road trip last May to visit them in their new digs in the pretty state of South Carolina. Brandy and I binged watched Big little Lies with a glass of wine in hand and staying up waaaay too late. It was what friendships are made of. You walk into their house and it instantly feels like your home. (plus their guest bedroom bed is the comfiest bed in the world.) There will be no photos of their home because they took me to this awesome park where there was a festival going on so we found a little tucked away part of the park and climbed around on the rocks and I took photos galore.
They passed down all their amazing qualities into their kids. The oldest is a firecracker just like his mom. On the car ride to the park I sat in the back next to him and he had me talking for his stuffed dog (apparently talking for dogs is THE fun thing to do.) and the youngest has their smiles that light up the world and all their energy. Both of their boys even though not getting to see me much welcomed me into their home had me reading stories and putting their arms around my neck and making silly jokes. Like their parents they love up on people making everyone feel like family.
Well, I will stop chatting your ear off and let you get to scrolling through photos. Maybe, I don't need that second cup of coffee I want ;)
