Parents are completely euphoric when they look at their babies. A baby deprives parents of the one thing that keeps people alert, happy, and from being delirious. SLEEP. It robs them of their 8 hours of sleep and they are tired, wiped out, and holding on by a thread but that sweet babe looks at them, yawns, or gives a hint of smile and they are entranced in a blissful state. It really doesn’t make sense but I have captured it over and over again. For example this family…This is their first kid…I saw them a couple weeks before he was born and they were calm and happy and wonderful, but then entered their little boy and it was as if their house was filled with thick love everywhere. I almost felt if I touched the walls love goo would come off on my shirt. (I know, I know, I have a flare for drama, but you grow up in a house of 5 girls and try not to love a little drama ;) Back to this sweet family- The glances they gave each other, the way they looked at their boy. The way they knew even after just 6 days of the things he would do or what he liked. Their deep care for each other…It was mesmerizing.
I felt euphoric after I was done taking photos, so excited for their little boy and how well loved he was going to be his whole life and how dreamy his parents are. Sometimes I have to pinch myself that this is my full time job to capture families and their euphoria :)
